Where Business Leadership Meets Public Policy
Social media is an important tool for the CEO Policy Institute. It allows us to share insights on leadership, corporate governance, and public policy while engaging directly with our executive and policy community. To safeguard our credibility and the integrity of our contributors, we expect all staff, fellows, and partners to adhere to the following principles when using social media:
1. Do No Harm
Even if personal accounts are marked as private or independent, posts can influence perceptions of CEOPolicy. Contributors should avoid comments that could harm the Institute’s reputation.
2. Professional Decorum
Maintain the same decorum online as you would in executive meetings or policy forums. Abusive, defamatory, or threatening language will not be tolerated.
3. Civility Above All
Social media is public. Be mindful that commentary can be amplified beyond intended audiences. Civility in tone and content is mandatory.
4. Avoid Discrimination
Content that could be interpreted as discriminatory, hateful, or inflammatory — including trolling — has no place in professional discourse.
5. Protect Reputations
Your personal reputation as an executive voice and the Institute’s institutional reputation are intertwined. Thoughtful, responsible posts enhance both.
Accountability: CEOPolicy reserves the right to take disciplinary action, including disassociation, for violations of these guidelines.
